4 Ways to Improve the SEO Chicks blog
A couple of weeks ago Julie Joyce, one of the SEO Chicks, tagged me to write a meme - 4 Ways to Improve the SEO Chicks blog. Of course, having been writing this blog for a whole 2 months, with a total of 13 posts, I am already a blogging master, and so they are right to ask my opinion. Indeed, it’s only taken me 16 days to get round to responding to the tag… when I’m as topical and on the ball as that, you just know you have to listen to what I have to say. So here goes…
Tip no. 1: MORE SWEARING
Lisa’s foul mouth is a breath of fresh air in the ultraprossional SEOblogosocioshpere 2.0. We want more classic lines such as “Let’s compare the search engine algorithms to the Matrix (why the fuck not?)”.
Also, keep on switching between the mild potty mouth (”flipping keyword rich content”, “sodding links”) and the outright verbal abuse (”this tag has always been important but I think it’s become even more important in the last 12 months, so don’t fucking ignore it!”). Genius.
Tip no. 2: THE SEO CHICKS SONG
You know it makes sense. Make it catchy, make it bouncy, make a video and get it on YouTube. Then watch and wait as the traffic floods in… though it may be mostly from lonely “SEO Blokes” who might be enjoying the video a little too much (depending on how “bouncy” the song is). As I’ve already suggested over on the SEO Chicks blog, my best idea so far is sung to the tune of Ottowan’s “D.I.S.C.O”… something along the lines of “We love S.E.O”. Any better ideas out there?
Tip no. 3: ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS
In her post, Julie mentions that she’d like to entice more comments. I guess this could be improved by posing focussed questions for the users to answer, especially if you have a controversial take on the answer already. You can see from the MyBlogLog bar on SEO chicks that there’s plenty of regular visits from other SEO bloggers that never comment - give them more questions to answer (such as “what do you think of the fucking great new SEO Chicks song?”) and you’ll be onto a winner.
Tip no. 4: DO THE TICKLE FIGHT
Say no more.

I actually got “told off” about that Matrix post by a “big” female SEO. ha!! Made me giggle.
Oh and me and Julie have been talking about doing some link baiting with a YouTube video of us doing our SEO version of FatherTed, would be fucking hilarious. Obviously I would be Father Jack, “FECK, DRINK, SEO!!!”
how fucking weird is this! i googled someone this morning and went to seoroundtable, there i read some posts by Lisa (seochicks) and from there i got to the seo chicks blog (which I hadnt heard of before cos im a networking retard) and just now Matt sent me a link to his blog and i found this post!
