One of the best feelings ever…
…is when you’ve filled in your details and hit “buy” to pick up some gig tickets. And I’ve just done exactly that - for Broken Social Scene @ Sheffield Leadmill, 29th May! I was hoping to see them along with The National, Iron & Wine, Explosions in The Sky and Dinosaur Jr at the ATP festival in Minehead, but all tickets have sold out, so it’s awesome to find out that they are playing a few dates in the UK afterward. They’re playing in Dublin, Oxford and London too, and I’d recommend grabbing a ticket and getting yourself to one of those gigs if at all possible.
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything music related, but this is still supposed to be an SEO and music blog, so expect a couple of gig reviews coming up and possibly more. In the meantime, if you’re reading this and have any recommendations for music to check out, feel free to leave a comment!

Tonight was actually the 3rd time I’ve seen these guys live, so their amazing-ness isn’t exactly fresh news to me, but it’s still nice to get a reminder! Read more
Maps Live - Manchester Roadhouse
Tonight I took the opportunity to watch Maps live at Manchester’s Roadhouse. I first came across these guys on the indoor stage at this year’s Summer Sundae in Leicester - they blew me away then, and they have since been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, so I figured this would probably be my last chance to see them at a relatively small venue before they go stellar. Stars Live - Night and Day, Manchester
Tonight I took a trip to Night and Day Cafe in Manchester to see Stars (or “Stars FROM MONTREAL”). These guys were first brought to my attention as labelmates and part time members of pretty much my absolute favourite ever Canadian super indie pop group collective, Broken Social Scene (who I’m very excited to be seeing for the 3rd time in a couple of weeks) and so I didn’t want to miss the chance to see Stars play just down the road from me.
